By Anaswara V Rajan

Bayern Munich thrashed FC Barcelona in a 8-2 win in the UCL quarter-final. Bayern became the first ever club to score eight goals in the UCL knockout match. It is Barcelona's worst ever loss in the UEFA Champions Leauge era. Evey goal scored tonight was awful for Barca. The German Midfielder Thomas Muller took Bayern lead from the early minute. Soon after the first Barca received an equaliser from Bayern's David Alaba's own goal. Barca conceded four goals in the first half itself. They make belief in the game plan at the 57th minute through the Luis Suarez's goal. And in the fantastic second half Bayern scored four more.

Thomas Muller was at the top from the fourth minute of the match. Bayern fell down after the own goal of David Alaba. But within the first half Ivan Perisic picked up a pass from Serge Gnabry and fired a powerful shot. With a Joshua Kimmich assist Gnabry scored the third goal for Bayern. Muller was again in action very soon made a 4-1 lead in the first half. For Barcelona the game was totally out of their hands. Quique Setien's ideas couldn't work out. But football is a sport which I feel like "unpredictable". The change is constantly required and Luis Suarez who bought that change in the game. He tried to preserve the life of Barca with goal at 57th minute. But at the 63rd minute they agian conceded a goal by Kimmich, a right footed a very close range shot with a perfect assist of Alphonso Davies. Barcelona loanee Philippe Coutinho came off from the bench in the second half. With a brilliant cross Coutinho helped Lewandowski to score a header. Bayern continued hunting Barcelona with a 85th minute goal of Coutinho. He added one more just before the last minute of the game. Thomas Muller awarded the Man of the Match. Bayern thrashed Barcelona totally with incredible 8 goals.
Bayern have reached their 12th Champions League semi-final. They scored three goals in 7 minutes. They showed up a magic performance.  In the 10 goals blossomed match there were seven yellow cards, including Messi and Bayern's coaching staff. Muller was on fire. As always the wall of Bayern, Manuel Neur was acted accordingly. He saved two chances of Lionel Messi, a cross from the edge of the box on right and another from left. It was as extraordinary treat from Bayern Munich.
Bayern won the match from the beginning. They produced one of the most shocking result. It was marked as a humiliating defeat of Barca. Bayern was energetic and ruthless in the pitch throughout the game. Bayern was stunning with 39 goals scored and all 9 UCL games won. Barca's defense was deflected in the match so as goalkeeper Marc Andre Ter Stegen was out of action. It is a record victory for Bayern in the history of Champions League. It is painful that Messi's Barca was knocked out with no titles this season. This was the last match of Setien as Barcelona Manager. Manuel Neur admitted he feels sorry for his countrymn Ter Stegen for conceding 8 goals in the game.
