Manchester City booked the Quarter Finals

Pep Guardiola's City continued the victory over Real Madrid for 2-1 in the second leg. With 4-2 aggregate victory City fixed its side into the last eight. City's Jamaican born Raheen Sterling opened the first goal at the 9th minute. It has been marked as his 100th career goal for the club. Within the half time Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema nets the goal.

Unfortunately Madrid's defensive side was very poor. Raphel Varane failed in the header back to the goal keeper Thibaut Cortious helped Gabriel Jesus to score their second goal in the second half. With the aggressiveness in defending, positive possession on the ball, City's Kyle Walker became the Man of the Match and the UCLMOTM award.

The absence of captain Sergio Ramos stays as a weak side of Real Madrid from the beginning. Well, Madrid competed and created chances but at the end they accepted the fact that they have been beaten by the better side. City shined in the Bernabeu by defeating the Spanish Champions. They were at the sharper side and have the control over the opposition team.


It was Guardiola's 10th Champions League quarter final as a coach. After winning the match he said that, they were here to try and win the UEFA Champions League. And to show their power they have to beat the big clubs. Zinadine Zidane said that it's a bad note on which to finish their season but they just accepted the defeat and also congratulated City. Having three titles Zidane suffered elimination from a UCL knockout for the first time.

Chelsea beat City, becomes Champions of Europe By Anaswara V Rajan Chelsea FC in a 1-0 win against Manchester City FC crowned the UEFA Champions League . In Porto's Estadio do Dragao the German footballer Kai Havertz scored the goal against City in the first half in front of 16,500 audience.   Havertz's focus evaded goalkeeper Ederson, met the net at 42nd minute of the game secured Chelsea in the first half itself. Havertz was the expensive signing for Chelsea FC this season. The English Premier League champions City was much impressive, desperately dissappointed not being Champions of Europe. This is a epic victory for Chelsea's manager Thomas Tuchel who was dismissed by PSG despite leading them to won their first Champions League last season.
